Metrics – The CM2 Universal Translator

You have just completed CM2 training and you are excited to get back to work to begin implementing the CM2 methodology. Where do you begin? How do you gain the proper support from your business?
You must find a way to communicate effectively to the organization. Every department speaks a different language and has their own focus, but what existing methods are understood universally? METRICS! You can think of metrics as a universal translator or Rosetta Stone that can be used to drive a common language. With this common language, you can now identify opportunities within the different facets of the business that proper CM can help resolve and grow your business to the next level. Metrics can help facilitate the strategies of implementation through visual controls by displaying the progress of various improvement initiatives. Metrics, with a clear, concise, and valid goal stated, should be simple to understand, with minimal to no explanation required. Utilizing metrics and visual controls, the presentation will demonstrate how these tools help:
Drive the implementation of CM2
Communicate to the business
Gain leadership support
Define resources
Reduce corrective actions
Improve processes
Show successes!
Sustain
Metrics deliver clear data. A huge benefit of metrics is it takes all the thinking and memorizing out of your head and puts it on paper. Let’s start the conversation.
