It was not like I woke up one day and said to myself I want to work in configuration management. I rolled into it. During my master thesis I focussed on how the automotive industry could collaborate with design documentation while ensuring that everybody was using the same information in a distributed environment. My first job was about implementing PLM systems which led me to even building home grown PLM systems. Over time the focus in the programs shifted more to configuration management as the foundation for PLM.

I started my career as a technical writer with a software consulting company, and that was my first introduction to requirements. I moved to the medical device world and transitioned to quality leading a document control group. As I learned about configuration management, the path became clear as things fell into place
